10 Reasons Your Diet is Not Working
Try to count the numbers of diets out there, and see if you won't break your calculator!
If these diets really work, shouldn't we all be slim and fit by now?
A lot of people who are overweight do not really overeat!
So why can't you lose weight?
Here are 10 reasons why your diet is not working as you think it should
You are on a diet
You don't need me to tell you that diets do not work. If it did, we won't have the almost 34% rate of obesity in the U.S-some people think the percentage is higher
And the never ending cycle of weight loss and weight gain is a risk factor for poor health
The body will protect itself against deprivation by holding on to all the food it can
You know that now by experience
A lot of people think they can eat junk food all day-fast for one day, and that would take care of their weight problem.
It's not going to happen
Weight loss-and good health in general, is a continuous practice of eating right, not just for one day, but everyday.
The body needs healthy nutrients to perform the thousands of biological processes that go on without our awareness and intervention
These nutrients are needed for energy, repairs, immunity, digestion, elimination etc
Lack of adequate sleep
Sleep, a risk factor for obesity?
And a whole lot of other diseases too-including heart disease!!
There have to be reasons humans spend a third of their lives in bed-or should
Not Drinking Enough Water
Did you know a lot of people do not drink enough water because they do not like the taste?
It's true too. Can you believe that?
If your body is 78% water, what do you think nature is trying to tell you?
The consumption of soda and other "chemicalized" drinks is a risk factor for obesity, heart disease, brittle bones-to name a few
Every physiological process in the body requires water-including the very act of breathing or even speaking
Stress will kill you
I don't mean that in a metaphoric sense-I mean it literally.
Stress is a risk factor for heart disease, strokes, memory problems, fatigue-and of course, obesity.
Stress is a major doorway for a host of diseases, because stress lowers your immunity
This impairs the ability of your body to defend you against infections
The thyroid is closely associated with metabolism
Slow metabolism will make it hard to lose weight
Lack of Fiber in Diet
Fiber is required for good digestion, and especially for good elimination
Poor bowel movement leaves fecal matter in the digestive system
Harmful bacteria can act on this to produce bloating gases and toxins
Yeast infection is a major reason a lot of people cannot lose weight
Some people think only women get yeast infection; this is not true
Men and women can get yeast infection
Yeast infection can cause some symptoms that mimic other diseases that can baffle even doctors
Lack of Enzymes
Enzymes are required for digestion. Enzymes are living organisms
Unfortunately enzymes are destroyed by heat/cooking
Most peoples' diet is lacking in fresh fruits and vegetables-sources of most enzymes
The result is poor digestion-which as you've seen can make losing weight difficult
Wait a minute, parasite infection?
Isn't that what people in the tropics have to worry about?
Almost every one on earth is infected with parasites. Surprised?
