Lack of sleep makes you fat-lose weight fast and keep ti off

How does sleep deprivation make you fat?

Well, to answer that question, we need to know what the consequences of lack of sleep are

Here are what can happen to you if you do not get enough sleep

  • Irritability
  • Mood swing/Depression
  • Fatigue
  • Abdominal obesity
  • Erectile dysfunction-due to low testosterone production
  • Memory problems
  • Inability to lose extra weight
  • Higher risks of accidents
  • Type II Diabetes
  • Disruption of Circadian Rhythm
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Heart Attack
  • Poor digestion

So if you ever hear anyone bragging about being able to get by with less than 6 hours of sleep every night..
You need to regard him/her as unhealthy!
You should get between 7-9 hours of sleep every night!

Check out this article about how lack of sleep make you overweight, if you do not believe me

But sleep deprivation is NOT the only reason you can't lose weight or why you are overweight in the first place

Watch this Video to see why you are overweight and how to finally lose weight..
and keep it off

Obesity will increase even more in the near future
How can we predict that with near certainty?

Well, have you ever been in a public place?
Now, count the number of people around you
How many of these are on their cell phones, engaged with their ipads, ipods or whatever pods they have?

Add to that the explosion of television channels and programs on other devices, and you can see the number of distractions

A lot of these people are on these devises till the early hours
These people refuse to sleep

But it gets worse.

You've seen the consequences of sleep deprivation
Here is the irony:

  • Sleep Deprivation increases your risks of obesity
  • Obesity increases your risks of Diabetes
  • Diabetes increases your risks of being overweight
  • Diabetes makes it even more difficult for you to lose weight

The World Health Organization predicted that the rate of Diabetes will skyrocket in the next few years..
With the potential of killing about 5 million people every year!

Let's talk about another way sleep deprivation makes you fat.
And how it would be difficult for you to lose weight if you refuse to sleep

Lack of sleep disrupts hormonal balance

This is very serious indeed

But for this discussion, I am going to stick to just 3 Hormones

  • Leptin
  • Ghrelin and
  • Cortisol

What is Ghrelin?

Ghrelin is a hunger hormone

It is the hormone that let's you know you're hungry
But how on earth do you know you've had enough food?
That brings us to another hormone, Leptin

What is Leptin?

Leptin is the appetite suppression hormone that alerts you when you've had enough food

We all know when we are full
When you sense this, you stop eating-at least you should

There is another hormone that is also very important for weight loss and for general health

That is Cortisol

Cortisol is a hormone secreted in response to stress
It by itself is not bad-it actually helps you cope with stress!

But too much of it is dangerous, not only to weight loss but to health in general

Lack of sleep increases the level of Cortisol

Stress is a major risk for a lot of diseases including obesity

As you can see, lack of sleep makes you fat through even more pathways than we've talked about here!

You know how dangerous obesity is
